Overview Research Centres

In addition to its four research programmes, FASoS is home to several research centres which focus on key topics complementing the research programmes:

  • The Centre for Gender and Diversity (CGD) focuses on the acquisition of externally funded research projects within the field of gender and diversity studies.
  • The Maastricht Centre for Citizenship, Migration and Development (MACIMIDE) is an interdisciplinary research platform which brings together scholars working in the fields of migration, mobility, citizenship, development and family life. It contributes to a better understanding of the dynamics and consequences of transnational migration and mobility in a European and global context.
  • The Maastricht Centre for Arts, Culture, Conservation and Heritage (MACCH) is a transdisciplinary centre which brings together economic, legal, historical, philosophical, and practical expertise in response to the increasingly multi-layered and complex challenges facing the fields of arts and heritage today.
  • The Centre for European Research in Maastricht  (CERiM) is geared to strengthening the existing ties between the Faculty of Law and FASoS in the study of European integration, with a view to facilitating new and innovative research in specific topical areas.
  • Centre for the Social History of Limburg (SHCL) (associated) provides a research infrastructure for comparative regional history by giving access to historical sources, maintaining a library collection, developing research and publishing a yearbook and a dissertation series.
