Research Teaching Integration

student conference 3

FASoS is not only home to researchers, but also to a crowd of internationally oriented, enthusiastic students. One of the reasons they have chosen the UM and a FASoS study programme is our orientation towards Problem-Based Learning. This means that students are not passive recipients of a syllabus; from Day 1 they are trained to think for themselves and behave as researchers. Knowledge starts with problems, and we help our students to define and resolve problems in society.

Likewise, all our teachers are active researchers. Each one of them conveys her or his enthusiasm for problem-driven research to the future leaders trained at FASoS. The projects on the left provide an impression of the various ways in which research and teaching are intertwined at our faculty.
