With an inspiring conference, the research project Migrant Life Course and Legal Status Transition (MiLifeStatus) funded by the European Research Council (ERC) was officially kicked-off at Maastricht University on 27 June 2017. The inaugural meeting brought together the MiLifeStatus team, led by Maarten Vink (GTD), and fellow academics from Europe and North America.

In the morning, MiLifeStatus researchers Maarten Vink (GTD), Floris Peters (PCE) and Swantje Falcke (PCE) discussed their research plans and shared some initial results. In the afternoon, invited speakers gave additional presentations.
