At the upcoming T2M Conference on transport history in Lucerne (November 5-8), dedicated to the theme of ‘Energy and Innovation’, there will be a separate session on the history of the bicycle. The scheduled three contributions are by Peter Cox (Energy and the bicycle:  Human powered vehicles in perspective), by Helmut Landerer (A comparison of bicycle and automobile as innovations in Germany until 1910) and Manuel Stoffers (The human-powered vehicle movement and the rethinking of transport ideology since the  1970s).
