Revision of Bachelor Arts and Culture

Revision of Bachelor Arts and Culture
CGD members participated very actively in the revision of the Bachelor Arts and Culture at FASoS by developing new electives (Vulnerable Bodies, Othering Europe) and contributing to the revision of existing courses (Art and Modernity, Cultural Pluralism), with the aim of making this curriculum less Eurocentric/white/male, and of introducing the intersections between gender, age, race, and class as useful categories of cultural analysis. Art and Modernity, for example, now dwells on topics such as colonialism, the cult of masculinity in specific avant-garde movements, and the underrepresentation of women artists in the canonization of the historical avant-garde.  In addition, we also contribute to the new interfaculty BA Global Studies.
