Historicidagen 2024 in Maastricht brought together a wide range of scholars, heritage professionals, and educators under the theme of (un)disciplined history. Our interactive, often experimental, programme aimed to explore what it means to work across disciplinary boundaries, to challenge entrenched historiographical traditions, and to question how history is produced, represented, and made accessible today. OSC-NL Knowledge Exchange 2024

On July 5th, the annual Knowledge Exchange organised by the Open Science Community Netherlands (OSC-NL) brought together coordinators and ambassadors from various Open Science Communities (OSCs) across the country. I participated as FASoS Open Science ambassador alongside Dennie Hebels (UB Maastricht, Open Science Ambassador FHML) and Rianne Fijten (co-founder of the OSC Maastricht). Re-imagining academic exchanges: creating unconferencing formats for the 2024 Historicidagen

In December 2023, our “unconferencing” committee brainstormed on opportunities to redefine academic discourse and collaboration during the 2024 Historicidagen in Maastricht. In this post, we would like to share our ideas and invite fellow researchers, educators, and heritage professionals to suggest their own pioneering formats. At the beginning of our meeting, we briefly defined what the theme of the 2024 Historicidagen, “Undisciplined History”, means to us and what the notion of “undisciplined” research has to do with transcending traditional conference formats.
